Presentation description: The Public Disclosure Commission was created as part of citizen Initiative I-276 (1972), the groundbreaking law enacted to promote transparency in government affairs and campaign-related activities. Washington State’s campaign finance law has long been recognized and consistently ranks at the top of all states for its robust disclosure and enforcement provisions. As a state agency created by the people, the PDC serves the public’s interest in monitoring influence over government through enforcement of specific disclosure requirements and campaigning regulations for all state and local elections.
